Open Day Success
The Open Day 2017 was a great success, with many visitors from the local area coming to have a proper look around the workshop, to see how the boxes are made, and the many designs, shapes and sizes there are to choose. Despite a very rainy day, large numbers of visitors came in a steady flow throughout the day, to be welcomed with tea, coffee and cake, plus an exclusive look at our very skilled staff making boxes of all kinds. The particular challenge became the many rolls of “own paper” that visitors brought, for us to make into various boxes of their choice, but nothing was too much to defeat the amazing workshop staff. Many went home very chuffed with an entirely unique and bespoke box for their home. One set of wooden magazine holders that needed covering to cheer them up, was a particular challenge, as they had curved edges and round holes to cover, so we gave this to James (co-founder of The Empty Box Company), whose expertise was quickly put into action, watched by an audience of fascinated onlookers. Plus towards the end we had quite a few “Make Your Own Box” sessions with the children. Lots of craft bags were taken home, and we have a few spare so do request a free one with any order, whilst stocks last. https://www.emptybox.co.uk/product/craft-box-ribbon-interior-paper-cord-etc/
We are awaiting to hear how much was raised for the local charity Chicks from the Prize Draw, so will keep you posted! An enjoyable day for everyone, and a good way to spend a rainy Sunday!
